Senator Pierre Dalphond, Leader of the Progressive Senate Group (PSG), is pleased to welcome Senator Daryl Fridhandler to the PSG.

“Senator Fridhandler is a proud Albertan with roots across the country. An accomplished lawyer and businessperson, he has been actively engaged in his community. He will be a strong federalist voice from Alberta in the Senate. Independent members of the PSG look forward to working with him,” Senator Dalphond said.

“I am delighted to join the PSG caucus of independent Senators, a group which I believe is the best overall alignment for me at present. I equally look forward to working with, and getting to know better, my many accomplished and collaborative colleagues in the other Senate caucuses,” said Senator Fridhandler.

The Progressive Senators believe in a more independent Senate, equality amongst senators, Charter values, diversity, reconciliation, and policies directed towards sustainable, inclusive, and shared prosperity in Canada. Their philosophy is inspired by the Algonquin/Ojibwe word “Mamidosewin,” for “Meeting place” or “Walking together.”
