Senator Pierre Dalphond, Leader of the Progressive Senate Group (PSG), is pleased to welcome Senator Pierre Moreau to the group.
“Senator Moreau’s impressive record, particularly during his fifteen years in the National Assembly, including as head of various ministries, brings a wealth of relevant experience to the Senate. Quebecers – and, indeed, all Canadians – will benefit from his return to public service. Independent members of the PSG look forward to working with him,” said Senator Dalphond.
“Today I am pleased to join the Progressive Senate Group, which will enable me to achieve the contribution I wish to make to the work of the Senate. This choice in no way alters my sincere determination to collaborate with all senators, regardless of their affiliation. I believe in a Senate that is honest, impartial, independent and dedicated to the well-being of all Canadians,” said Senator Moreau.
The Progressive Senators believe in a more independent Senate, equality amongst senators, Charter values, diversity, reconciliation, and policies directed towards sustainable, inclusive, and shared prosperity in Canada. Their philosophy is inspired by the Algonquin/Ojibwe word “Mamidosewin,” for “Meeting place” or “Walking together.”
