Ottawa, May 14, 2025 – In anticipation of the start of the 45th Parliament, the Progressive Senate Group (PSG) announced its new leadership team.
Senator Brian Francis becomes Leader, Senator Tracy Muggli Caucus Chair/Deputy Liaison, and Senator Amina Gerba Liaison. These new roles will be effective tomorrow, May 15, 2025. Senator Judy White remains Deputy Leader.
On behalf of all Progressives, Senator Dalphond expressed his congratulations to the incoming Leader, Senator Brian Francis, who has previously served in leadership as Caucus Chair. “Brian’s calm and inclusive approach will serve him well in this new role and I look forward to him representing our group in the Chamber and beyond.”
Senator Francis expressed his sincere appreciation to Senator Dalphond for having served in leadership since February 2021. “Pierre has served on our leadership team in various capacities for a number of years and we are grateful to him for his dedicated service. Our group will continue to benefit from his contributions and analysis. I look forward to working collaboratively with the new leadership team, PSG members and staff, and indeed all senators as we turn our focus to the 45th Parliament.”
Senator Brian Francis (Leader), Judy White (Deputy Leader), Senator Amina Gerba (Liaison), and Senator Tracy Muggli (Caucus Chair) were all welcomed by their colleagues to these leadership roles.
